Cut Throat Wet Shave

At The Salon we recognise the importance of male grooming and there is nothing better than a treat of a Cut Throat Wet Shave. With our intense and extensive training in this service, we pride ourselves in providing an exquisite experience for all our clientele.

We recognise that male grooming has increased by over 35% in the past year alone. This inspired us to offer this service and give gents a taste of luxury.

A cut throat shave is a unique experience where gents can relax and make the most of this service. Gents will be left feeling both refreshed and suave after a single blade is expertly used over the skin to remove the beard for a truly precise, close and clean shave.

We are proud to exclusively use Italian product range Proraso’ throughout the experience which are the traditional products developed in Florence, Italy. The Shaving brushes we use are made of badger hair to create the most luxurious lather, and the pre-shave lotions, after shave balms and massage oils all only use natural ingredients such as tea tree and eucalyptus oils, which are obvious as the aroma is ever present throughout the shave.

These products make for a truly fresh approach.

  • [+]Step 1: Prepare

    • Step 1: Prepare

Face is massaged to encourage blood flow to the surface

Pre shave lotion and hot towels are applied to your beard for at least 3 minutes.

This will soften the beard hairs and relax the skin so that there is minimal resistance while shaving.

  • [+]Step 2: Apply Lather

    • Step 1: Prepare

Lather is applied in a rotary motion to stimulate hair follicles to allow hair growth patterns to disturb the clean cut shave.

  • [+]Step 3: Shave

    • Step 1: Prepare

By now your beard should be well prepared for a close shave which is done using a cut throat blade, carefully following the grain of the beard. Shaving against the grain can potentially lead to razor burn and in-grown hairs.

  • [+]Step 4: Post Shave

    • Step 1: Prepare

Immediately following your shave, lather is re-applied and re shaved with a Mach 3 razor against the grain leaving the face smooth and silky. Excess lather is removed and a cold towel is applied to close in your pores and the shave.

  • [+]Step 5: Moisturise and Refresh

    • Step 1: Prepare

Immediately after shaving an antiseptic Alum rock smoothed over the shaven area to reduce and nick or irritation caused throughout the shave.

Post shave balm is then massaged into the skin and finished using aftershave with a roll slapping technique

This will soothe your skin and protect it from the elements. This protects the skin against excessive moisture loss. It also helps reduce the development of wrinkles and fine lines.
